As you know from the Gift Guide I sent out a couple of weeks ago, there are a lot of brand-new products on HOT! 2023 saw its fair share of fashion trends as all years do. Who hasn't heard of quiet luxury, or seen the ubiquitous ballet flat on so many non-ballerinas, and who could miss the ridiculous no-pants phenomenon? Along with these big 'can't be missed trends' there were some smaller, quieter trends, that I quite like. I bring them to your attention now because they can easily zhush up your holiday outfits. The first is the fabric rose. Pin a giant one to your lapel or on a ribbon around your neck for an eye-catching choker moment. Next is the bow, which has lately become the star of viral TikTok videos. Lastly, is a pop of red which I can always get behind as it instantly enlivens anything you put on this season. Any of these 3 can make your NYE 'fit!
3. Hot Pick - Festive Hair Accessories
Is there a better time to incorporate hair accessories into your wardrobe than the holidays? I just looked back at photos of myself on New Year's Eve throughout the years and the one constant is a little sparkly something or other in my hair! Barrettes, headbands, clips, and even hats, can all bring the glam to a special night when you want to shine! 5. Pantone Color Of The Year - Peach Fuzz?
Peach Fuzz, Pantone's 2024 color of the year, is one I'm really not feeling and that's primarily because it barely seems like a color to me. Described as "gentle," "velvety," "contemporary," and "nurturing" in the company's press release, this hue is said to epitomize versatility and warmth. Although it's already being seen in various decor items, tech devices, and other aesthetic elements, some have shared their reservations about the color because of its closeness to caucasian skin, neutrality, and softness at a time when many think society needs bolder statements.
