Hello Hot Friends,

March is Women's History Month, and we celebrated International Women's Day on the 8th. I can't think of a more important year to celebrate women. It's more crucial than ever in the face of an administration that fails to prioritize women’s rights and equality. This month is a powerful reminder of our ongoing fight for reproductive freedom, fair wages, and protection against discrimination.

March is also a month of transition as we move into spring after a winter that's been long and tougher than usual. Let's try our best to lighten up, spring is just a couple of days away! Here we go with this week's Hot 5:

1. Hot Hack Of The Week

2. This Is Hot!

3. Obsession Confession

4. Shopportunities

5. Culture Club

1. Hot Hack Of The Week

If you're anything like me, you are ready to burn your winter wardrobe, especially our over-worked winter coats! Here are some tips to help you lighten up your wardrobe right now and get you excited for spring/summer 2025 fashion.

-- Take off the heavy puffer! It's time to clean it and put it away until next winter. Even if it's still truly nippy out, it's better to go with layers. Ditch the heavy coat, and it will immediately add some spring to your step!

-- And speaking of coats, this time of year calls for 1 of 2 on-trend outerwear choices; the trench coat or the leather jacket. Both of these can be made warmer with the addition of a sleek hoodie or a lightweight quilted vest or jacket. Both additions give an instant cool factor to your look.

-- Add some new-season pizzazz to your look with a bag in an unusual new shape or color. Or it could be time for cool sneakers in the more slender shape that's trending in the newest spring colors. Consider turquoise, teal, or bright pink. And don't forget the power of a colorful pair of socks that you can see now that your boots are off!

-- Bring spring to your wardrobe with the addition of quirky accessories that are new and on-trend for spring/summer 2025. Add a whimsical bag charm or tie a bright scarf to your bag. Have you seen the jewel and charm embellished shoe strings that can give your sneakers a whole new look?

-- And lastly, how about a new pair of sunglasses? It's the accessory that instantly gives you that summertime feeling. Sunglass trends for this spring feature oversized square frames, an east-west frame that's very wide and rectangular, and of course, updated aviators that are looking especially fresh this season.

2. This Is Hot!

Belts are so Hot for Spring 2025 that they're being worn in multiples or as tops like in the photo above! So it's pretty fabulous that we have a trove of very special ones by 1980s designer Connie Bates Fahrenheit that have recently been added to the Hot Vintage tab. You can read all about the remarkable designer here. Cinch the waist of a midi dress, wear one at the hips of your favorite jeans, or even pair one with a chain belt to breathe a little life into your wardrobe this spring!

3. Obsession Confession

This week's "thing I can't stop thinking about" is a highlighter from Selena Gomez's cosmetics company, Rare Beauty. I now understand why her company is doing so well if this product is any indication. It's called Positive Light Silky Touch Highlighter and it's just that. It goes on like silk, stays all day, and instantly gives you just the right amount of glow. There are 6 colors including Exhilarate which I'm wearing in the photo above

4. Shopportunities

Located on Elizabeth Street in Nolita, Toast is a boutique you must visit! Known for utilitarian, no-nonsense clothes in beautiful natural fabrics, the brand is inspired by nature, craft, and vintage textiles. The collections heavily feature hand embroidery, shibori, tie-dye, indigo, and hand-printed fabrics, such as ikats and block printing. If you can't get to the boutique make sure and check out the website.

5. Culture Club

I've always been thoroughly intrigued by the artist, curator, and co-founder of Paper Magazine, Kim Hastreiter. She's just released a book called Stuff: A New York Life Of Cultural Chaos and I'm loving it! Seeing photos of her "stuff" and reading about each item is like reliving the history of my New York life. Every single item in the book is something I desperately wanted or something I'd still die to have.

During this Women's History Month, I leave you with these powerful words from the woman who almost had a chance to save us!

Terry xoxo
