1. What Are the Trends For Spring '21?

After a year spent mostly sitting at a desk on zoom and/or only interacting with family, there wasn't much of an audience for our possible sartorial choices. This season sees a lot of design that's a direct response to our "new normal", in other words, things that make the transition from our closeted year to tip-toeing back into the fray. Comfort is still at the top of our list as the thing we continue to crave. Also, happy mood-lifting color and zoom worthy points of interest. The 9 trends below feature the runway and the real way versions.

2. The Simone Rocha H&M Collection Lands Next Thursday!

Simone Rocha is a London-based designer who has been creating beautiful clothes for several years now. I love her feminine, sweetly adorned pieces that are quite wearable even if they don't appear to be at first glance. Interestingly, 30 years ago I discovered her father's designs while living in Singapore. Her upcoming collaboration with H&M is a dream since her collections are quite expensive and this will be an opportunity to own a special piece of her womenswear, menswear, and even children’s wear at a great price. Get ready to rumble right here.

3. Yes, You Should Consider Hair Clips and Barrettes

It will come as no surprise that I like all manner of hair jewelry. In my last email, I sang the praises of headbands, and this time around I want to praise hair clips and barrettes. Maybe you feel they're all wrong for a grown-up gal like you but if you choose the right ones they can really add a lot of style to hairdos from short natural styles to long sleek ponytails. Every length and hair texture can benefit from pretty hairpins, clips, and barrettes. Read the advice Allure Magazine has about how to wear them here and don't forget we have some pretty ones on the site including great vintage ones that no one else will have.

4. Have You Tried A Virtual Vacay Yet?

Have you been dreaming of where you'll go when we can finally travel safely again? Perhaps like me, you've been daydreaming and planning your amazing next trip as a fun exercise to help you get through the day. I have quite a few ideas for trips I'm dying to take. Will it be the invigorating city of Capetown, the charming medieval hillside town of Todi in Italy, or my favorite city in the whole world, Paris?? In the meantime why not check out this cool site that allows you to take a virtual tour of so many fabulous cities. Have fun and get ready for the real thing soon!

5. Don't Miss This Documentary!

I'm very excited to recommend this new HBO documentary entitled, Black Art: In the Absence of Light. Directed by Sam Pollard and executive produced by Henry Louis Gates Jr., it is based on a groundbreaking exhibit from 1976 called Two Centuries of Black American Art. Organized by the brilliant Art Historian and artist David Driscoll who sadly died of covid last April, it explores through interviews with historians and artists the incredible journies of many top Black artists of the 20th century. It's a fascinating look at the impact they've had on today's young Black artists too. Black History Month might be over but there's still so much to learn! #blackartmatters

Terry xoxo
